Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion

Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion

The Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion (JPED) is an archival, peer-reviewed, bimonthly publication that focuses on the crystallographic, chemical, diffusion, thermodynamic, and kinetic properties of phases in inorganic materials systems with special emphasis on alloy systems.

JPED features critically reviewed basic and applied research results, as well as critical phase diagram evaluations of scientifically and industrially important materials. JPED covers new research techniques, equipment, modeling, data evaluation, nomenclature, presentation, and other aspects of phase diagram preparation and use. It includes information on kinetic control of equilibrium, phase transformation, solidification, coherency effects, impurity effects, and environmental performance.

The Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion, first and foremost, distinguishes itself through publishing a large number of primary experimental data for phase diagrams and thermodynamics. Precisely this aspect makes it very useful for our daily work on critical evaluation of phase diagram data. It releases theoretical papers which not only give an overview of the recent developments in the field of materials constitution but also show novel ways to use phase diagrams for a better understanding of materials’ behavior.”
