Metallography, Microstructure, and Analysis

Metallography, Microstructure, and Analysis

Metallography, Microstructure, and Analysis (MMA) focuses on the art and science of preparing, interpreting, and analyzing microstructures in engineered materials to better understand materials behavior and performance.

MMA covers the methods of evaluation of microstructures in engineered materials for use in a wide range of applications. Journal content includes new techniques in metallography and microscopy which aid in the examination, interpretation, and analysis of microstructures and microstructural properties in metals, alloys, ceramics, and composites of these materials.

MMA examines the ways in which microstructure is influenced by a variety of factors, including mechanical and thermal processing of metals, alloys, and ceramics, environmental degradation such as oxidation and corrosion, welding, casting, and solidification processes, advanced forming and fabrication processes such as additive or digital manufacturing, and tribological interactions.
